Leon Jerome "Jerry" Bruckheimer (born September 21, 1945) is an American film producer. He produced films such as, Beverly Hills Cop, Top Gun, The Rock, Con Air, Crimson Tide, Armageddon, Enemy of the State, Gone in Sixty Seconds, Black Hawk Down, Pearl Harbor, Pirates of the Caribbean, King Arthur, and the National Treasure franchise.

Bruckheimer was born in Detroit, Michigan. He studied in Arizona, where he earned a degree in psychology. After graduation he worked in various places until the opportunity arose to produce a film. Then he moved to Los Angeles. By 2007, he produced over 30 films and is considered one of the best producers in history.
In the 80's and 90's he cooperated with Don Simpson for Paramount Pictures. With him Bruckheimer produced his first big hit Flashdance in 1983, the film grossed $95 million. After that came another hits - Beverly Hills Cop and Top Gun. Despite the untimely death of Simpson in 1996, Bruckheimer continued working on several films like Armageddon, Black Hawk Down and Pirates of the Caribbean series.

At the beginning of his career produced ads, including one for Pepsi. Since 1997 he dealt with creating a work for television including CSI: Las Vegas. He also produced the popular TV shows, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, Cold Case, The Amazing Race, and Dark Blue.

As one of the best producers he acquired the nickname "Mr. Blockbuster", because many of his films earned excellent results. Overall, his films have earned 13 billion U.S. dollars. Only series of "Pirates of the Caribbean" brought 2.79 billion dollars in revenue.

His projects have received 35 nominations and 5 Oscars, 8 nominations and 5 Grammy Awards, 23 nominations and 4 Golden Globe Awards, 30 nominations and 6 Emmy Awards, 8 nominations and 4 People's Choice Awards and many MTV Movie Awards, including Best Film Award of the decade.

Bruckheimer was married twice. His first wife was Bonnie Bruckheimer. He has a son - Blake Dallan Makar (born 27 May 1988). He currently lives in Burbank with his second wife Linda Bruckheimer. Has a stepdaughter named Alexandra.
